IN MEMORY OF SUSAN HITCHCOCK

We are deeply saddened of the news of the sudden passing of Sue Hitchcock. Sue has been a supporter of events and programs at Pillars of Light and Love since we were founded in 2015. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Sue.  She will always be remembered for her kind heart and wonderful smile!

Donations made in her memory will help us continue our work. Her last post on Facebook was a thank you to our Founder for creating Pillars of Light and Love which focuses on life and stress management for ages 5 to adult. 

Susan's obituary follows with announcement of her loved ones receiving visitors on August 20th in Pottstown.

Susan Marlene (Blanchard) Hitchcock, 70, of North Coventry Twp., passed away on August 13, 2020, at Pottstown Hospital – Tower Health.

Born in Parkesburg, PA, on January 4, 1950, Susan was the daughter of the late Emory John Blanchard and Ruby Thelma (Stone) Blanchard.

Susan had a passion for gardening and enjoyed relaxing her body and mind with yoga. She was the ultimate caregiver and loved to serve people and animals in need, which is a trait she passed down to her daughter. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her granddaughter, who will always cherish the special memories they made together.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heather Lea Salamone, wife of Thomas Joseph Salamone; her granddaughter, Lyla Sophia Salamone; her fiancée, Douglas E. Towers; and her siblings, Thelma “Janie” Yiengst, Ronald Clark Blanchard, Wanda Carol Johnson, Emory Wesley Blanchard, Thomas James Blanchard, Dennis Harlan Blanchard, and Brian Mark Blanchard.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Please note, Pennsylvania restrictions on indoor gatherings, as mandated by the governor, are limiting 25 people on a rotating basis. We appreciate your patience and understanding while you may be waiting in line. Masks and social distancing will be required.
